Quality Control Software
The Problem
The ISO 28560-2 standard includes some complex encoding rules. In addition, tag encoding is likely to come from many source, some of which might not be fully conformant with ISO 28560-2.
Unreadable tags or tags with erroneous encoding will be encountered.
All conformant software will detect errors and report that it was not possible to read and decode tag data. However, this provides little insight into the cause of the problem and, therefore, into possible remedial actions to prevent the problem occurring again.
The Solution
Our Quality Control Software:
- Attempts to decode the encoding from a tag
- Validates all encoding against:
- the rules of ISO/IEC 15962
- the rules of ISO 28560-2
- the rules of any template defined for a given scenario, for example:
- the selection of optional data elements
- the sequence of data elements
- Produces a full diagnostic report that includes:
- all identified errors and warnings
- data for all successfully decoded data elements
- Allows reports to be saved for emailing to the encoding source for remedial action
- Allows reports to be saved in XML format for further processing
The software supports:
- All ISO 28560-2 data elements, including those that have decoding rules specific to that standard:
- ISIL
- Content Parameter
- Set Information
- Selective locking of individual data elements
- Hard- and soft-coded DSFID
- All relevant block sizes and memory capaicities
